The COVID-19 pandemic is wreaking havoc with players’ international contract, and many of them are viewing the future with great anxiety.
One of the latest players to see his contract goes up in smoke is Kieron Pollard.
The 33-year-old Windies limited overs captain has had his contract at Northamptonshire for the 2020 season cancelled recently.
Pollard was set to play in this summer’s T20 blast. However, given the spread of the coronavirus disease, many countries are in a lockdown mode and sports activities around the world are placed on hold.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has confirmed that no professional cricket will be played in England before July 1.
The Windies is set to play England in a three match Test series in July which would be the first outing for both teams on the pitch since the outbreak of the disease which started in China last year December, and has since spread globally.
