After two months and 59 matches of competitive cricket, we are left with two teams who will play the final encounter of the 13th edition of IPL.

Defending Champions Mumbai Indians are going to face Delhi Capitals on November 10 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Mumbai Indians have reached the finals for 6th time, whereas Delhi Capitals will be playing their 1st final.

Mumbai Indians:

Four-time champions Mumbai Indians have been the most balanced team throughout the tournament. They will be very confident coming into this final, especially after defeating Delhi on three occasions this season.

Mumbai Indians had finished with nine wins from 14 games in the league stage and dominated every opposition they played. Every individual in the team has stepped up on their given day and contributed to the team.

Players to Watch out for:

Mumbai Indians’ two unsung heroes Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan have been the pillars of batting in the middle order. It will be interesting to see whether these young guns have the ability to handle the big-match pressure.

Rohit Sharma has had an average IPL season by his standards as he has scored mere 264 runs in 11 matches. Fitness has also been a concern for him. Even though Rohit is not amongst run, it hasn’t affected the team’s performance.

But not always one will win matches without the captain’s performance, so it is high time for Rohit to show the world that he is a big match player.

Team News:

Trent Boult’s fitness is a major concern for MI. It would be a massive blow for Mumbai if Trent Boult missed out on playing in the final.

Probable Playing 11: Quinton de Kock(w), Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult / James Pattinson, Jasprit Bumrah

Delhi Capitals:

Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, have finally gained some momentum after a lean patch in 2nd half of the tournament. Delhi Capitals have reached the finals by defeating the red-hot favorites Sunrises Hyderabad, who were on a roll of winning four matches in a row.

A win against SRH will give the capitals immense confidence to face a strong team like Mumbai Indians.

Players To Watch Out For:

Delhi Capitals, despite their strong Indian core, have depended on overseas stars like Stonis, Rabada, and Nortje. Shikhar Dhawan is the only Indian batter who has scored runs for the Capitals with consistency.

Marcus Stonis opening the innings against SRH, has released the pressure off the fragile middle-order batting line-up.

Indian players like Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishab Pant need to step up to the plate on this significant occasion and contribute to the team.

Team News:

Delhi is likely to go unchanged as they will stick with the same opening duo of Shikhar-Stoinis as in the previous match.

Probable Playing 11: Shikhar Dhawan, Marcus Stoinis, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer(c), Rishabh Pant(w), Shimron Hetmyer, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Pravin Dube.

Pitch and Weather Condition:

The Pitch at Dubai International Stadium will be good for batting and help the spinners in the middle overs. Usually, in a final game, the team which wins the toss prefer batting first as runs on the board adds psychological pressure.

The weather will be clear and no chance of rain. The dew factor might come into play in the second inning.

Overall, fans expect a tight and thrilling encounter from the top-two teams of IPL 2020. Mumbai Indians are run-away favorites for this match, but you never know with Delhi Capitals, as they could play their best game in the tournament at this final stage.

It won’t be upset if Delhi Capitals defeat Mumbai Indians as they are the two strongest teams in the tournament, and in a competition like IPL, any team can come good on their given day.
