West Indies and Jamaica batsman John Campbell has been slapped with a 4-year ban for evading, refusing or failing to submit to sample collection” by JADCO on April 20, 2022.
The decision, a copy of which has been seen by Radio Jamaica Sports, came Friday evening from the Independent Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel.
Campbell’s ban, according to the 18-page decision, will be back-dated to early May of this year.
According to sections of the reports: “In the circumstances of this case, the athlete is ineligible for a period of four years, as per JADCO Rule 10.3.1, and the time will be counted from the date of the athlete’s notification of the anti-doping rule violation that is from the 10th of May 2022”.
The 28-year-old Campbell has so far played 20 test matches at an average of 20.61, six One Day Internationals, and two T20s for the Windies.
He was accused by JADCO of refusing to provide a blood sample on April 20 of this year at his home in New Kingston.
Up to sports time, it was unclear whether Campbell intended to appeal against the ban.
