Campbell Slapped With 4 Year Doping Ban

West Indies and Jamaica batsman John Campbell has been slapped with a 4-year ban for evading, refusing, or failing to submit to sample collection” by JADCO on April 20, 2022.

Following the announcement, social media have lit up with many and varied comments. Some of these include:

A wicked act.

4 years is a bit harsh.

I was expecting a 1 year suspended sentence.
It’s not that he was actually found with substances inside of his body.

Harsh indeed for what is not a Criminal offense and in the context of real criminals, including Murderers in Jamaica who are even getting light sentences, parole, and free to continue doing their thing.

It should not have come to this. Campbell has only himself to blame; he should have been more circumspect in obeying the rules, as JADCO has been known to be a very ardent enforcer under WADA Rules.

You refuse to submit at your peril. Better to find another way. But refusal is a no-no.
